A single session will be effective and allow you to experience the results of this work. It is most effective to have 3-5 sessions.
I would suggest you be in a private spot where you will not be disturbed during your session. Make sure you are well hydrated. Have a glass of water within your reach.
"The body has to process every emotion that is experienced. A normal, healthy emotional experience is when you feel the emotion and let it go right then and there, and the processing is done immediately.
